• How Long Does It Take to Drill the Well?

  The actual length of time it takes to drill the well is based on a variation of drilling methods, well depths, materials used and soil composition. Some of the harder soils, such as blue granite can make the drill slow down significantly until it can pass through that layer of rock. While one may think that the softer soils would be easier to drill through, sometimes they are just as difficult as they may give way easily and cave in further delaying the process. On average and under optimum conditions, a well with a depth of 600 feet takes about 1 day (this does not include the time required to install the pump).

• How Deep are Wells in My Area?

  Water wells in the area can range anywhere from 100 feet to more than 1,500 feet. The best way to answer this question would be to contact our office so that we may research out your specific area to provide the best estimate on the depth to water in your area.

• Does BROWN DRILLING Provide Free Estimates?

  Yes, all the estimates we provide are free. Call us with either your County Assessor’s Parcel Number (APN) or the physical street address (ie. 123 Main St) and we will do the research for your parcel to determine what the estimated depth and cost to drill a well. Once you decide to proceed with drilling, BROWN DRILLING will set up a time and date to meet with you on your property at no charge.

• What Is Included in the Price?

  The price to drill the water well by BROWN DRILLING includes the initial site survey if necessary, the hardware to install the well, and the labor and equipment to drill the well. The price to install the pump and the associated permits are not included. Some locations will require both a county and a state permit, while others may only require a state permit.

• How Long are Our Estimates Valid?

  Estimates are valid for 30 days.

• How Is Payment Arranged and What Types of Payment Is Accepted?

  Payment in full is required upon the completion of the water well. We accept checks, credit cards and of course, cash. Please contact us if you have any questions.

• Is There Any Financing Available for Well Drilling?

  While we are not in a position to finance well drilling, many banks will lend money for well drilling. Some may put a mortgage or lien against your property. Others may offer a basic signature loan or personal line of credit. The best thing to do would be to contact the bank you currently do your banking with and have them see what is available to you.

• Does BROWN DRILLING Install or Sell Pumps?

  We used to, many years ago. Now we just focus on the well drilling aspect and let the pump installers focus on the many options available to complete the well (pump, pressure system, storage tank, etc) – including the different power options (electric, generator, solar, etc). We strongly recommend having a licensed pump installer install the pump in your well.

• Who Do I Contact to Install the Pump?

• How Do I Know If I Own the Water Rights to My Property?

  This is a good question for a real estate attorney. However, if a title search has been done on your property, there might be information recorded that indicates whether the water rights have been granted to someone other than the property owner. Sometimes, there is something recorded with the actual deed to the property. It is rare that a residential property owner in Mohave or Yavapai county does not own the water rights to their property.

• Does BROWN DRILLING Do Water Testing or Well Inspections?

  We do not have equipment to perform water testing or well inspections. The pump companies, such as Arthur’s Well Service, can get you an estimate to perform these tests and inspections. Arthur’s Sale and Service (928) 753-2048.

• How Do I Find Information on a Well That Is on My Property?

  Without having the “Well Registration Number”, it can be a rather tedious and lengthy search for that information. You can contact Arizona Department of Water Resources and they can search by name, property address and parcel number. Their number is 602-771-8527. They also have a website that can be searched for well information.
